WhatsApp will save backups of chats on Google Drive

New translations of WhatsApp give us clues for where you plan to go the implementation and future services that are coming. The last one that has been discovered, that yesterday it was announced that their calls will soon arrive in Windows Phone, is that you can save the backup of Google Drive conversations.

WhatsApp is moving forward in recent times by leaps. It seems that they were waiting for to complete the acquisition by Facebook to get underway and calls, which is the next big thing (which yesterday turned his record) and what you want to have around the world, they will be followed by other services such as which has been discovered today itself and which is also very interesting.

And is that WhatsApp will allow us to save in Google Drive backups of our chats, and may thus release this space in the terminal thanks to be stored all the conversation history – and the files that go in them except the videos – in the cloud. A terminal with 4 or 8 GB of memory will surely has to thank much because while we can move these backups to the microSD, if we have it, WhatsApp as other applications that have access to contacts not can be installed in the external storage media for safety. This makes everything that comes in the talks is saved in the internal memory and it is us who have to transfer it to the microSD when the dreaded message of “There is no space in the terminal”.

On the other hand, the possibility of having this history of chats, the cloud will make it easier to move a phone to another because we won’t have to worry if we have or not the copy of conversations, directly connect us to Google Drive and us it will download to install WhatsApp. Quite comfortably maintain one of the elements, which is being put to the level of transfer photos or contacts, when we went from a mobile to another.

And Dropbox, iCloud or OneDrive?

At the moment, and probably thinking of Android users who are the majority, there is no indication that other online storage media can be used such as iCloud in Apple, OneDrive Windows phone or Dropbox, one of the most widespread and present in all platforms, something that doesn’t Google Drive at least officially Windows phone for example.
